چکیده
Abstract Aims The diagnosis of periprocedural myocardial infarction (PMI) after coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) is based on biochemical markers along with clinical and/or instrumental findings. However, there not a clear cut-off value high-sensitivity cardiac troponin (hs-cTn) to identify PMI. We hypothesized that isolated hs-cTn concentrations in the first 24 h following CABG could predict adverse events (in-hospital death and PMI) left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) decrease. Methods results retrospectively enrolled all consecutive adult patients undergoing at our Institution over 1 year. Hs-cTnI (Access assay, Beckman-Coulter) were serially measured post-operative period correlated outcomes. 300 enrolled; 71.3% them underwent alone, mainly on-pump (96.7%), 33.7% setting an acute syndrome. Most showed hs-cTnI values superior limit required by latest guidelines for Five (1.7%) died, 8% developed PMI, 10.6% LVEF decrease ≥10%. did correlate or PMI whereas they ≥ 10% (P-value < 0.05 any time interval). Indeed, higher 9–12 post-operatively, previous surgery, number surgical procedures, longer cardiopulmonary time, predictors Conclusions After post-operatively may be useful method early risk guide investigation management possible complications.

متن کاملProspective, comprehensive assessment of cardiac troponin T testing after coronary artery bypass graft surgery.
BACKGROUND The significance and clinical role of cardiac troponin testing after coronary artery bypass grafting remain unclear. METHODS AND RESULTS Cardiac troponin T (cTnT) was measured during the first 24 hours after coronary artery bypass graft surgery in 847 consecutive patients. Only 17 patients (2.0%) had new Q waves or left bundle-branch block after surgery; however, cTnT elevation was...
متن کاملPrognostic value of right ventricular myocardial performance index in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass surgery
Abstract Background: Right ventricular myocardial performance index (RVMPI) is a Doppler–derived parameter of non-geometrical ventricular function that measures both systolic and diastolic functions of the right ventricle. The aim of this study is to compare prognostic value of RVMPI with global RV function in patients undergoing Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG). Methods: In a longitudinal ...

Abstract Background: Erectile dysfunction (ED) is common in cardiovascular disease (CVD) and indicates a complication of coronary artery bypass graft surgery (CABG). This study was designed to evaluate the status of erectile dysfunction in patients with CAD before and after CABG surgery. Methods: We designed a prospective cohort study on male patients candidates for elective on-pump CABG...
